Dispute Resolution & Enforcement Policy

Last Updated: December 2025 | Version 1.0

1. Overview

Thrifteast serves as a neutral intermediary between independent Buyers and Sellers.

We manage the order lifecycle, handle payments, and provide a framework for resolving disputes fairly based on verifiable evidence.

Thrifteast does not guarantee product quality or authenticity, nor do we assume responsibility for delivery or buyer-seller coordination outside the platform.

2. Dispute Eligibility

A dispute may be raised within 3 days of delivery in the following cases:

• Non-receipt of product — Buyer claims they have not received the product despite the Seller marking it as delivered.

• Misrepresentation — The product significantly differs from its description or photos.

• Damaged or defective item — The product arrived damaged or is not functional as described.

Note: If an order remains in "Confirmed" status for more than 30 days without being shipped, it will be flagged for compliance review. Sellers who fail to ship or refund within this period may face account suspension.

Disputes cannot be raised for:

• Change of mind, incorrect selection, or buyer remorse.

• Minor cosmetic differences typical of used goods.

• Products marked as non-returnable or non-refundable (default for all Thrifteast listings).

• Orders that have been automatically marked as delivered after 30 days (unless a dispute was raised within 3 days of that auto-delivery).

3. How to Raise a Dispute

Buyers must raise a dispute within 3 days of the order being marked "Delivered."

The dispute can be initiated via the Order Details → Raise Dispute option.

Buyers must provide clear supporting evidence, such as:

• Unboxing video or delivery package photo

• Screenshot of incorrect item

• Courier tracking inconsistencies

Late or unsupported disputes will be automatically rejected.

4. Review Process

Each dispute is reviewed manually by the Thrifteast team. The process is as follows:

• Step 1: Buyer submits dispute with reason and optional supporting evidence (photo).

• Step 2: Thrifteast team reviews the dispute and available order information.

• Step 3: Admin makes a decision to either resolve (in buyer's favor) or close (in seller's favor) the dispute.

• Step 4: If resolved in buyer's favor, the seller is notified to process a refund within 3 days.

• Step 5: Final decision is communicated via in-app notification.

Note: Thrifteast does not request additional proof or response from sellers during dispute review. Decisions are made based on the buyer's evidence and order details.

5. Possible Outcomes

Dispute Resolved in Buyer's Favor:

• Seller is requested to refund the Buyer (amount paid minus processing fees).

• Refund must be initiated within 3 days of resolution.

• Buyer receives the refund within 5-7 working days.

• Seller's account may face temporary suspension for repeated non-fulfillments.

Dispute Resolved in Seller's Favor:

• Funds remain with the Seller.

• Buyer's record will reflect a false dispute warning if claims were unsubstantiated.

Insufficient Evidence:

• The case will be closed without refund and marked "Unverified."

• Thrifteast may still apply penalties based on behavior history.

Unresponsive Seller:

• If Seller fails to reply or refund within 3 days, a temporary ban will be applied.

• After 3 temporary bans, the account will be permanently suspended.

6. Automatic Order Completion

If no dispute is raised within 3 days after delivery, the order is deemed completed and disputes can no longer be filed.

If an order remains in "Confirmed" or "Shipped" status for 30 days from the confirmation date, it will be automatically marked as "Delivered."

Both buyer and seller will receive notifications when an order is automatically marked as delivered.

After automatic delivery, buyers have 3 days to raise a dispute if there are issues.

7. Fraud and Abuse

Users found submitting fake evidence, false claims, or misusing dispute tools will face immediate penalties, including suspension or permanent ban.

Thrifteast reserves the right to verify claims through:

• Courier tracking logs

• Internal transaction data

• Payment gateway records

8. Enforcement & Suspension System

To maintain platform integrity, Thrifteast enforces a transparent penalty system:

• Each violation results in a temporary suspension (3 days)

• After 3 temporary suspensions, the account is permanently banned

• Permanent ban: All listings are removed and the account cannot be reinstated

During temporary suspension (3 days):

• The seller's listings are hidden from the marketplace

• The seller cannot create new listings

• After 3 days, the suspension is automatically lifted

9. Finality of Decision

All dispute decisions made by Thrifteast are final and binding.

Thrifteast's judgment will be based solely on documented evidence and platform data.

We do not entertain appeals once a decision has been finalized, except in cases of proven error or fraud.
